Day one
I registered the domain on 18 August 2026 and started building the site from scratch. There was no legacy code to inherit and no old structure to work around — a clean start. The first weeks were about the base: pages, navigation, sitemap, structured data. New and changed pages are submitted automatically to search engines that support IndexNow. -

The first audit
I ran an Ahrefs Site Audit for the first time on 3 October 2026. I fixed the list that same evening and ran the audit again on 4 October.

Fixed in one evening
The audit gave a short list. I fixed it that evening:
- pagination links that added extra 301 redirects;
- broken ItemList structured data on 28 pages;
- old http://www addresses now take one redirect instead of two;
- meta descriptions brought into 100–160 characters;
- the home page listed once in the sitemap;
- heavy PNG images of 1–1.7 MB replaced with JPEG of 59–148 KB, with 301 redirects from the old addresses;
- Open Graph tags for categories.
Speed got the same treatment. A response without cache took 1.0–1.3 s; from cache it now takes 0.02 s. The cache is warmed every hour instead of being cleared on every update. New and changed pages are submitted automatically to search engines that support IndexNow.

Weekly growth
Google weekly impressions started at 238 in the week from 24 August 2026. Eight weeks later they were 550. I watch this line every week: it is the first sign that the base is working.

What it shows
A clean technical base from day one means less cleanup later. A new site can start with correct redirects, a clear sitemap, valid structured data and fast pages. Then the work can focus on content. That is how I build sites: the technical base first, then the content that earns the traffic.
Build the technique first. Then the content has a clean road to the reader.
